Zell am See Town

Zell am See is a popular international ski resort, located near the city of Salzburg. Together with the neighbouring borough of Kaprun, they are a part of the European Sports Region.

Zell am See is a small medieval Alpine town, with a truly laid-back atmosphere in its pedestrian town-centre. A variety of shops, cosy restaurants, bars, cafés and night clubs will make sure you're never bored.

Winter Fun

For skiing: mountains Schmittenhoehe (757–2,000 m), Maiskogel and Lechnerberg (800–3,029 m), as well as the Kitzsteinhorn glacier (3,203 m).

The ski-lovers will find a great variety of slopes – from “black” verticals for the adrenaline-seeking professionals, to barely inclined “green” slopes, perfect to learn on or just to relax and slide along. The cross-country skiers will appreciate the numerous routes, especially the picturesque one around the lake.

The Zell am See/Kaprun region is serviced by more than 60 ski-lifts and cable cars. Professional snowmaking equipment will ensure that you can enjoy excellent snow, no matter how the weather treats us. In the summer, you can try the exotics of skiing on a high-altitude glacier. In the winter, along with skiing, the region offers a broad range of alternative recreation, such as ice skating on Lake Zell, sledging, snow-rafting, and hiking.
